How can we bridge the digital divide in our schools and transform students from tech consumers into tech creators? This session unveils Retro Innovation, a way to move from a hands-on, project-based model that integrates the Engineering Design Process with foundational coding.
I will follow an outline of :
1- the importance of using recycled materials for engineering and learning how things go together
2 Reflect on tools of innovation and using dash robots alongside cardboard creations to future our understanding of how robotics enhances engineering
3 From Coder to Engineer: I will walk through how students progress from simple commands to designing, building, and testing their own robotic attachments to solve real-world problems. We'll highlight specific K-3 activities and differentiation strategies.
