Play, Learn, Tech: How Dash robots support student development

A Talk by Natalia Lasek (Teacher, Kazimierz Nowak Primary School in Dabrowka)

About this Talk

In my presentation, I will talk about an innovative approach to teaching mathematics and developing students' interests in primary school in Poland using Dash robots. These interactive robots, which we use during lessons and extracurricular activities, help children learn through play. They engage students in creative problem-solving, developing logical thinking skills, and learning the basics of programming. During the presentation, I will provide specific examples of how Dash is used in math lessons, showing how technology can support understanding more complex concepts and motivate students to take action. Additionally, I will discuss the Laboratories of the Future program— a nationwide initiative aimed at primary schools that enabled us to purchase robots and other modern educational tools. This program aims to support the development of students' digital skills and prepare them for future challenges. Thanks to it, students can experiment with technology, develop their scientific and technical interests, and learn through experience. In my presentation, I will focus on how these tools have sparked greater engagement and curiosity among students and how they have helped introduce an innovative approach to education in our school.
