Engaging and Empowering Students Through the Wonder League Robotics Competition

A Talk by Laura Hubert (Library Media Specialist)

About this Talk

The Wonder League Robotics Competition engages students through robotics challenges that foster 21st century skills. Our elementary students have participated in the WLRC for the past 8 years. In this session, I will share best practices for creating a successful learning experience for students. Learn about different options for structuring your team time in order to maximize opportunities for student participation, including after-school groups, STEM enrichment blocks, and whole-class sessions, Learn about the skills that students develop as they work in teams to code Dash robots through challenges--some students make great gains in coding and problem solving skills, while others develop leadership and communication skills--and all become stronger collaborators. Learn how to easily start a Wonder League team at your school this year, using a Dash robot and the Blockly platform.
