Earth Day Student Robot Connection

A Talk by Dr. Lisa DePaola District Administrator, Plainedge Public Schools

Get inspired to host an elementary robotics event for your district. Join us to learn about our Earth Day Student Robot Connection, a special robotics event for our 3rd grade coders hosted annually on a Saturday near Earth Day. This unique opportunity gives our 3rd graders a chance to connect with children from their school and our other elementary schools. Students have a blast collaborating with their robotics team as they build their coding skills and program various robots such as Dash and Sphero at many Earth Day themed robotics challenge stations. Students meet new friends as they collaborate on coding teams and problem solve together. Each team is coached by a 5th grade robotics coach. High school students serve as station leaders explaining the robotics challenges. At the conclusion of the event, parents are invited to return to enjoy our finale which consists of a slideshow of our coders as well as awards.
