About this Speaker
"Kathryn has been in Early Childhood Education for 20 years, teaching Preschool, First Grade, and Math Intervention in both public and private school settings. In 2015, Kathryn opened Curious Kids Lynnfield in order to focus on the aspects of teaching she likes best: connecting with small groups of students, helping early educators with curriculum development, and guiding the experiential learning of children through rich hands-on learning experiences. Through Curious Kids, Kathryn offers onsite STEM workshops at preschools and local elementary and private schools and also works with school administrators to offer Professional Development in the area of STEAM Education in Early Childhood. She also presents this material at regional and national conferences on the topic. Kathryn is also an adjunct professor at Salem State University, focusing on STEM Education Methods in Early Childhood, and supervises Graduate students and pre-service Teachers during their practical classroom experiences for the School of Education.\n\nIn her spare time, Kathryn in running all the World Marathon Majors in memory of her uncle and serves on various local community boards in Lynnfield. She is a mom of a 13- and 10-year-old and an unruly puppy named Moose."
